JS Bridwell was a legendary Texas cattleman, oilman and philanthropist. The Bridwell West Ranch at Adrian, Texas has always been a key part of Bridwell’s Ranching endeavors.  He started his ranching operations in the 1930’s and over time amassed a large ranching operation comprised of five ranches, across six Texas counties, from Wichita Falls to the Texas panhandle. The JB Brand became well known in the Hereford breed, the basis for Mr. Bridwell’s livestock operations.

In 2017 the various ranches began operating as independent properties, all controlled by the grandchildren of JS Bridwell.

Today the West Ranch carries the J3 Brand in acknowledgement of the third generation superior genetics in livestock. With an emphasis on land stewardship and wildlife management, all part of Mr. Bridwell’s vision, continue to be a major part of the Bridwell West Ranch operating plan. 

The beneficiary of Mr. Bridwell’s vision is Alison Dehan. Along with her husband Steve, they honor Alison’s grandfather’s legacy by seeking to take what Mr. Bridwell created and leave it better for the next generation.
