Bridwell West Ranch Manager

Mark was raised in OKC, Ok and spent his summers on the Bridwell River Ranch in Wichita Falls, TX working for his uncle. In 1983 he started working for the Bridwell River Ranch full time. Mark became the manager of Bridwell's Crosbyton ranch in 1995 and in 2000, Mark moved his family to Adrian, Tx to manage the Bridwell West Ranch. Mark has worked for Bridwell Ranches for over 40 years. He has been married to his wife Beth for 38 years and they have raised 2 children, a son Brayden Bowles and a daughter Baylee Koontz. They have 5 grandchildren Kyla, Emilee, Kannon, Khloe, and Karolyna, and 2 great grandchildren Greyson and Weston.

Mark has a talent and vision for building a good cow herd that is highly productive. He is also responsible for the excellent health program and animal welfare that emphasizes our BQA program. As manager Mark also devotes time to land stewardship, and under his leadership the BWR has developed a pasture rotation and rest program that has enhanced the sustainability of our range related to forage production, with one eye on developing wildlife habitat.

Cattle Division

Brayden Bowles was born on the Bridwell River ranch and grew up on Bridwell's Crosbyton and West Ranch. He is a 2008 graduate of the Ranch and Feedlot Operations Program at Clarendon College. In 2013 Brayden began working for the Bridwell Ranch at Crosbyton. Brayden transferred to the Bridwell West Ranch in 2017 where he resides today. Brayden and his wife Lindsey have three children, Kyla, Kannon, and Karolyna. They have two grandchildren Greyson and Weston.

In addition to his normal cowboy and horse training duties, Brayden also provides the management of our first calf heifers.

Cattle and Horse Division

Fred was raised in Paducah Texas, and graduated from WTAMU with a degree in Business Administration. He has day worked on many of the large ranches in West Texas, including Moorhouse, Tongue River, Bridwell, Spade and W. T. Waggoner. He has worked full-time at the Pitchfork and was the manager of the Frisco Creek division on the Four Sixes Ranch.

He enjoys spending time with family, studying God's Word, and training horses. He and his wife, Sally, have been married 38 years. They have two daughters-Samantha Stice, and Alex Valdez (Gavin). They have three grandchildren-Sage, Violet, and Colter.

He accepted a full-time position with Bridwell Ranch West in November 2023.

BWR is fortunate to have Fred on the team and especially look forward to his contribution to our ranch horse program.

General Manager

Jay started representing two of Mr. Bridwells granddaughters with their ranching operations in 2007. He continues today as general manager of the Bridwell West Ranch owned and operated by Alison & Steve Dehan.

His previous experience included 20 years as a partner in J&M Cattle Company and 10 years as Area Cattle Manager for King Ranch Inc. where he was responsible for the management of the stocker program including procurement, pre-conditioning and marketing.

His main responsibilities are related to general oversight of ranching and wildlife operations, including marketing, administrative & financial. Jay believes strongly in sustainability through profits, while focusing on land stewardship, improved range conditions and development of wildlife habitat.

Jay and his wife Lynn Cox have been married for 52 years. They have one son, Jed Evans, married to Jamie Evans, and a daughter Jamie Baldwin (Dennis) with two granddaughters Ella and Zadie Baldwin.
